Navajo Oxidized Silver & Turquoise Bangle

Navajo jewelry is characterized by chunky stones set in simple silver bezels.  Turquoise is the most popular stone among Navajo artists representing well-being and has religious significance.  The artist who created this bangle oxidized the sterling silver empathize the depth of the design.  Navajo artisans do use stones with flaws or purposely introduce a flaw into the design because only the Great One is perfect.
